Theme

Our theme this year, titled "Now UC IT...," focuses on the life stages of IT services, from conception through maturity to legacy status. Each phase in the service life cycle has its own unique characteristics and challenges. Presentations will explore strategies for shepherding IT services not only through a lifetime but through the transitions from one generation to the next.

Formats

Conference sessions will be offered in the following formats:

  • Presentations - A speaker (or speakers) presenting on a single topic.
  • Panel Discussions - A moderator will organize a group who will focus on a single service or topic, each representing their own UC campus's efforts in this area.
  • Technical Seminars - A speaker (or speakers) will present a tutorial or instructional session focused on a particular technical issue or topic.

The conference will feature both long (50-minute) and short (20-minute) sessions. Long sessions will be used for full presentations and extensive seminars or panels, with an emphasis on implementations and enlightening results. Shorter sessions will introduce early ideas, describe ongoing issues, or present interesting and insightful solutions that do not require a full-length session.
